Activation Energy E_a
Activation energy is the minimum amount of potential energy required to change reactants into products (the forward E_a), or products into reactants (the reverse E_a)  

For an endothermic reaction, Ea (forward) is always greater than Ea (reverse).

 

For an exothermic reaction, Ea (forward) is always less than Ea (reverse).
