Set up a buret containing 0.1 molar NaOH. Put 25 mL of 0.1 molar HCl in a beaker with a magnetic stir bar. Connect a pH electrode so that you can measure the pH as the base is dripped into the acid. In the experiment shown here the pH electrode is connected to a Texas Instruments CBL and calculator to record the pH. and volume of the base. At first you can let the acid run in one mL at a time, and measure the pH. As you approach the endpoint, you must slow down and measure the pH and volume of base used, drop by drop. After passing the endpoint, you can let the base run in more quickly again.
